IED / VBIED
ARC³ can provide up-to-date information and intelligence on the existing IED/VBIED threat. Currently, the IED/VBIED threat constitutes one of the most effective weapons in the bad guy’s tool box. We can help you reduce this threat to your operators and mission. This program includes the three most commonly deployed devices currently seen and used in Iraq and Afghanistan:
- Command-detonated
- Roadside/underbelly
- Explosively formed penetrators (EFP’S)
This course content includes the design, construction and deployment tactics of these three types of IED’s, and their variants.
Currently, over 70% of all IED’s are identified by the war fighter on the ground. We can assist both the operator and unit commander in recognizing and mitigating this continuing and evolving threat. Select portions of this course content are also incorporated in ARC³’s On/Off-Road and Mobile Force Protection programs. While ARC³ can provide IED briefings at both the classified and unclassified level, the unclassified training program incorporates all necessary ‘real world’ operating and threat information.
